  4. Bottom line is the Americans are malnourished. We are deficient in critical vitamins, minerals, fats and phytonutrients while we consume excess calories. To turn this around Americans are going to have to stop eating processed junk food in favor of fresh produce. And because the nutrient content of our fresh produce is depleted, we still have to supplement our diet with vitamins, minerals, essential fats, and phytonutrients.
